Police say a man barricaded himself in someone else's Scottsdale home on Monday after fleeing from a car crash near McKellips and Scottsdale roads.

The single-vehicle crash occurred just before 9 a.m., after which the driver ran from the scene into a neighborhood north of the crash, said Scottsdale Police Department spokesperson Kevin Watts.

Officers were searching "yard to yard" for the man when a woman told police he ran into her house, Watts said. She and another woman fled the home while the man remained inside, he said.

Police evacuated residents from the surrounding area and then began to communicate with the man barricaded inside the home, Watts said. After about 90 minutes of negotiation, the man surrendered without incident, he said.

No one was injured during the incident and all residents were allowed to return to their homes, according to Watts.

The man was not identified by police on Monday afternoon. It's unclear if he will face any charges.
