Person struck by gunfire found in North Berkeley

Police found a man in his twenties with a single gunshot wound lying on the ground in North Berkeley Saturday at about 4 a.m.

Berkeley Police Department officers were responding to reports of gunfire by the intersection of Solano Avenue and Fresno Avenue when the man was found. Berkeley Fire Department transported the man to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Residents with any information about the incident are asked to contact the police department’s Homicide Unit.
